FAQ

Answering a lot of emails and talking to many clients, I tried to compile a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the translation and business services I offer. I'm pretty sure you'll find everything you need in here.

Do you only offer translations into Greek?

Yes, I only translate from English into Greek (native language).

To your benefit, I have built a network of distinguished and trusted colleagues that can help you with your translations in other language combinations. Please contact me to discuss what you need.

How can you assure quality in your translations?

As my goal is to provide you with a translation product of the best possible quality, I follow a specific quality assurance process which I apply to all of my translation projects. Since I'm striving to comply with the EN15038 requirements of the European quality standard for translation services and also try to provide 100% customer satisfaction, during the proofreading stage, you have the choice to select the quality assurance principle you prefer.

More explicitly, you can either choose to have the final proofreading task performed by another translator/linguist (4 eyes principle on quality assurance), or you can specifically request that I do the entire translation process by myself (2 eyes principle on quality assurance); the latter especially applies when confidentiality issues are involved.

In addition to that, I work hard for a top-class translation work, and ultimately, the success of your business by following the principles of the Quality in Translation campaign:

  • I always work hard to deliver the best possible translation
  • I only accept assignments that allow me to achieve my goal
  • I decline assignments at prices that keep me away from this goal
  • I only work with professional translators, editors, proofreaders and revisers working into their native language
  • I only handle assignments to the above professionals who specialise in the particular field
  • I always strive to improve my skills through ongoing training
What is localisation?

Localisation is the complex process of adapting a product or content to a specific locale or market. The aim of localisation is to make your service/product look like it has been created for the target market. So localisation is more than translation. It also adapts design and graphics and modifies content and layout, in order to help companies, organisations and even governments communicate their message effectively in target markets.

As an experienced native translator based in Greece, I am well aware of the marketing and business scenery in my country. So, my aim is to deliver to you an excellent localised text and a great marketing message that fits the culture of the Greek market you are about to enter.

What is transcreation?

Transcreation is a term mainly used in the advertising and marketing sector and it is the process of adapting your message in the target language. Transcreation combines copywriting, adaptation and translation. The aim of transcreation is to successfully maintain the same intent, style and emotions of the source material to the target market. This service focuses on fluid readability and not on straight forward translation.

By hiring me, you can be sure that you will receive a high-quality piece of marketing text written in the required tone and style of your client.

A word from my customers in my Testimonials page will show you how my work helps them win a lot of prospects.

How long does it take to translate a document?

My daily output is around 2,500 source words. However, more time may be required for more complex and demanding texts.
Just send me an email with your query and I'll do my best to reply within the next 2 working hours.

How much does a translation cost?

Translation is charged per source word. However, for specific services (e.g. transcreation, content marketing/copywriting project, or for a more complex proofreading job) an hourly fee is usually applied. We can agree on this upon the beginning of each project.

When you hire a professional and experienced linguist for your projects, you actually make a great business investment that will help you reach your sales goals.

Feel free to drop me a line with your query and we can set up a call/Skype meeting to discuss a little bit about your needs and goals.

What are your accepted ways of payment?

I accept payments via bank transfer, PayPal, Payoneer and Skrill in €, $ or £.
